Dieses Mal hat Deutschland Glück gehabt. Trump wütete gegen Spanien und Großbritannien. Merz schien zufrieden. Aber beim nächsten Mal kann es komplett anders sein, und Deutschland ist der Buhmann. Dann grinsen die anderen Regierungschefs. Trump ist sehr erfolgreich mit der Spaltung Europas.

Man könnte jetzt auf den enormen Druck in so einer Situation verweisen (mit dem ein Bundeskanzler jedoch umgehen können sollte) - aber das war halt nicht das erste Mal, dass Merz den Eindruck erweckt, im Zweifel die europäische Solidarität dem Eigeninteresse opfern zu wollen.

Das ist schon ziemlich krass das zu sehen, wie Trump über Spanien und Großbritannien herzieht und der deutsche Bundeskanzler zu glauben scheint, sich der Maßregelung seiner europäischen Partner anschließen zu müssen. Auweia.

Anhaltendes Chaos durch den Krieg mit dem Iran, der die Inflation anfeuert, könnte nach dem Überfall Russlands auf die Ukraine europäische Gesellschaften noch weiter nach rechts drücken. Das wäre immerhin vereinbar mit der neuen Nationalen Sicherheitsstrategie der USA für Regimewechsel... in Europa.
