Mentioned this on twitter a few times, but what I like about The Hundred Line is that the fans are able to talk about it like it's a videogame with what they like and dislike. Meanwhile a lot of Danganronpa fans act like they got tricked into engaging with something evil because Gundham is in it.

I keep seeing people citing Covid for the reason why fandom is toxic and I don't understand why. In the 2010s you had people sending death threats for drawing the fat gem too thin until someone actually tried to take their own life, everything regarding Voltron. It was always like this.

Like for TADC People have been thinking Ragathas relationship with Pomni would be central to the series, then it turned out Pomni just finds that forced niceness off-putting. Way more interesting but so many peoples interest in the series was just Pomni and Ragatha shipping lol

Worst aspect of modern fandom is how speculation and theory crafting leads to people building up an idea of a series in their heads that's at odds with what the author is actually interested in exploring. A lot of people treat headcanons as the secret truth that the author is too cowardly to reveal.
