metatextually commenting on humanizing fictional people. being bored with really rote therapy shit. i'm just kinda saying it all out loud because maybe none of it reads. i don't know.

this is me approaching a lot of different thoughts at once. i've had probably hundreds of conversations that look like this in real life with my actual friends, but a lot of people think dialogue like this feels performative or ideological. the idea of parasociality. fictionalizing real people.

i love people who complain to your face that your commissions cost too much. number 1 thing to say to never get me to interact with you again, ESPECIALLY not in a business context. i know for a fact i'll end up doing 500 revisions for no reason other than them "getting their money's worth."

two men sit at a dining room table. a mustached man in a cap and reading a newspaper sits on the left. a younger man sits on the right. the younger man says, "man. it would be so easy to draw dogs all the time and get popular from it." the man in the cap says, "hey, man. that's really cynical. you're implying some unkind things about your peers just for having differing tastes." he folds up his newspaper and sets it aside. "it's immature," he says. the younger man blushes and furrows his brows in embarrassment. after a moment, he says, "you're right. i'm sorry. i just wish the things i care about were more popular." the older man says, "look at it as an opportunity to introduce what you love to more people! it doesn't have to be a negative experience." the younger man smiles and laughs a little. he says, "that's true! i can be like an ambassador for my favorite things." the scene changes, and the camera zooms away from the pair. we can see now that we're looking through a window. fox and bunny are just barely visible, staring up and looking through the window. the men inside say to each other, "thanks for being a good friend. i love you, man." and, "i love you too, bro." the perspective switches to fox and bunny. they both look unmoved. bunny says, "oh. that's nice." fox says, "eh. i prefer messier characters."

fox and bunny are sitting in a field. fox plucks a flower absently and says, "bunny, where did my curiosity go? is it because i grew up?" bunny says, "no. false correlation. constant ambient misery just does that, i guess." [time passes] fox and bunny are lying on their bellies in a field. bunny's head is resting on their arms. fox is sitting up on his elbows. it seems he is unable to sleep. fox says, "horrible to realize your entire identity is constructed out of comic pages." bunny, without opening their eyes, says, "true, but it's better than nothing." fox seems to really consider this. he says, "i never thought of it that way. wow. my life can have meaning after all!" bunny, a little nonplussed, says, "go to sleep, fox." [time passes] fox is hanging off of bunny's arm and crying, holding their arm tightly. he says, "bunny, pleeeaaase play with me. i can't do anything without you. i've been trying to play alone for so long..." bunny contemplates this, looking haggard. they think to themself, "i guess it is my problem after all." they sigh, and turn to face fox, forcing themself to smile. "what do you want to play?" they ask as fox still clings to them, hanging off their neck. fox instantly perks up, his face lit up in surprise. bunny laughs a little internally at this. then fox turns away bashfully and mumbles, "um!! i was hoping you had ideas..." bunny's expression turns exhausted and they mutter, "my idea is to go back to sleep."
