My folks are suffering because we didn’t get our SNAP benefits on the day we were supposed to get them; they would rather let poor people starve.

However, don’t you dare scold those who are just simply expressing a sigh of relief.

It’s usually cishet white people who say things like this and it’s genuinely exhausting. You don’t see the rest of us scolding you for mourning these very people.

I’m cishet and I’m half white myself, but I’m not mourning these people, but I also won’t straight up mock them.

The people scolding those who aren’t mourning people like Charlie Kirk and Dick Cheney are the same people who expect marginalized people to “suck it up”, or to have some resilience, or to “be the bigger person”. You all truly don’t understand why a lot of us don’t want to mourn these people.

This post still resonates given that Dick Cheney, someone who is responsible for so many deaths back then, has passed away today

—the fandom, but here’s one example of a character’s overall popularity: Matt Medic, who seems to have little depth and has only appeared in 5 episodes, seems to be more popular in the fandom than, let’s say Al Pine, who has appeared in 7 episodes and has some more character depth than Matt.

- Aiden Assist, a physically disabled Rescue Hero, only made 1 appearance in season 3 and that was it. I really wish that the show utilized him more to better represent disabled people, especially in the workforce and first responders.
- This isn’t criticism of the show itself, but rather—

—Rescue Heroes who was in charge of the dog sledding race for several years, and Al Pine and Bill Barker were one of the many contenders, which further implies that all the supporting characters from seasons 2 & 3 have always existed in-universe in season 1, and even in the 1997 pilot episode.

—colleagues who made their debuts in season 2 (Bob Sled, Sergeant Siren, Willy Stop, Pat Pending), Rock Miner, who only appeared in 2 episodes in season 3, having a bit more depth than those who debuted in season 2 & have appeared in more episodes than him, etc.
- Bob Sled was one of the—

- Some of the supporting characters seem to get a bit more depth and screen time than the other supporting characters. Like Al Pine being an uncle, Maureen Biologist (who made her debut in season 3) appearing in more episodes than some of her other—

I love the 1999 series and the 2003 film to death, but I have a couple of genuine criticisms about them.

- Some of the continuity feels… empty? Like, how did Jack Hammer’s wife and son only show up in season 1 for just a few seconds? Why didn’t his sister Jill have an appearance in the same season?

Rescue Heroes 2019 reboot is genuinely underwhelming to me honestly.

Yes, I’m aware I was never the target audience for the reboot, but like, it’s just watered down.

There doesn’t seem to be the same amount of edge that the 1999-2002 show and the 2003 film has. :(
