Snowkiting Mahtomedi at 20 degrees with 20/25 mph winds. First one out, picked a good size kite 8 m, but rough ice patches were hard on the knees, wish there was more snow to ride on.
Glad I got out when I did, it dropped another 5 degrees and got darker.

Indeed, last summer was my number 18. always windsurfing but last few years the focus has been on wing foiling.
that day it was gusting up 70 mph at times on the river. I was on my smallest gear, but the gust picked up sail and board under me and threw yards a way. I swam but could not catch.

Right, it is a hard sport. I have been wing foiling recently but still would like to windsurf if I can under the nice conditions. On that day, it was gusting up 70 mph on the river at places. I have never got separated from rig before. The sail and board lifted under and tumbled down the river.

July 22, 2024 was a hard afternoon- get a tow from a Downwinder as I got separated from my windsurfing rig 😔
