troops pick up trash, dig trenches and do plenty menial tasks that shouldn't be construed as humiliating. These people have regular jobs & pulling them away from their jobs leaves holes in the workforce that will compound GDP losses. this will support a false narrative they'll be pushing next SOTU.

I'm not so concerned with the apparent humiliation of the Guard as the tax payer money wasted on troops who aren't training to be better prepared to protect tax payers. their time in service should be spent getting better not making America less littered.
