Quioto recebe a primeira cátedra em Estudos Portugueses no Japão Quioto passa a ter uma Cátedra em Estudos Portugueses. Leva o nome de Luís Fróis, missionário jesuíta, que viveu e morreu no Japão, no século XVI.

Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS) now has a chair in for Portuguese Studies, to deepen understanding of the language, culture, and Portugal-Japan history.

It has been named after Luís Fróis, a Portuguese missionary most well-known for his influential writings in Historia de Iapam.

Shiga Prefecture News reported that a 30-meter-long Sannomaru stone wall had been newly discovered during excavations at Sakamoto Castle ruins, built by Akechi Mitsuhide (明智光秀) in 1571.

As it's still in good condition, there has been talks to preserve it.

Most of it was lost due to the Sendai air raids. Now they're doing excavations and they have found the stone foundations that'll help with the restoration project. They plan to continue until 2027.
