For me, 2025 has felt like a particularly heavy year ... and you might feel the same. So as we head into the holiday season, I wanted to share a few recommendations — books, podcasts, and newsletters — that encourage me, make me think, and remind me how hope begins with action.

I can barely stomach WalMart. Questionable treatment of employees; rarely buying American; cheap crapola products; “schlumpers” laying all over their carts (while wondering why their backs/knees hurt), “carters”running over me with their scooters, “greeters” whose demeanor says GO AWAY! No thanks.

Every major surge brings a deep “whump” followed by heavy splattering and the splashing of water cascading down the platform. I’ve sat in the dark (by moonlight) to just LISTEN to GFGs eruption. A10 #parkchat Yellowstone is my favorite. So many good memories associated with it, and hubs and I are only halfway to fulfilling our goal of hiking all 1079 miles of trails! We’ll be visiting at least twice in 2026; a week in a cabin (anniversary), and 2 weeks in the backcountry, hiking.
