A little background on my characters' lives. In this case, their city-state, Gallian Almost the entire City consists of pillars or floating platforms, on which (and within them) housing, production, farming, and other facilities are located. Moreover, all these pillars are connected to a single, enormous Tree, as they call it—a reservoir of energy from which life flows into their world. Why a world and not a planet? Because the very concept of a planet doesn't exist in this world. Gallian is the Tree, slowly spreading its roots across all of existence Perhaps, somewhere far away, there is another such Tree, unknown as yet, but whether Gallian will ever encounter it is unknown

A pair of red eyes stared straight into his soul. Behind him, a huge bulk, leaving him no room to maneuver. Another one loomed overhead, an exact replica of their leader. A twin, obviously. A rare thing for these creatures, by the way. Below, his escape routes were also cut off—another threatening, hissing antan was just trying to grab his leg. Even if a miracle happened and he managed to break through this "charming" quartet, there were dozens more of these freaks around. Their leader was stalling for time. He didn't seem to be mocking them, but the fact is, he felt like the undisputed victor. And not without reason—just a couple of minutes ago, he almost single-handedly smashed half of Pro's squad against the wall. The others were a little luckier. Although, can being a bargaining chip be considered lucky? Proins pressed his hand harder against the bleeding wound on his stomach. The scratches on his chest and face bothered him slightly less. But his head, which had been hit by something very heavy in the heat of battle, was making itself known with a constant buzzing and confusion. But even in this state, Proins was ready to bargain.
