Yup, I think the fiscal drag of frozen tax bands will miraculously be unfrozen (and then some) in the budget before the election.

That was my take listening to the budget, compared to the predictions of apocalyptic doom, it was notable for being a very non-radical budget. Obviously some necessary fiscal tightening, achieved mainly through delayed tax rises (that might never actually happen) with some minor targeted spending
