@djstrahd.me hey, friend! Been a while but do you mind if I reach out to ask you a couple questions about potentially collaborating on a project?

Now that you say it, it feels surprising that it hasn’t happened yet.

Blanket censoring the word “gambling” is literally a pro gambling move.

Gambling platforms avoid the word for obvious reasons, so YouTube eliminating its use under the pretense of combating gambling is the best fucking cover a gambling platform could ask for.

It’s pretty disgusting.

lets talk on big issue for artists, REVIEWS. lot of discussion on how to feel about these things when youve put so much work into your art. usually buds will assure you 'dont worry, that negative review is wrong,' but i disagree. i think it is important to remember that NEGATIVE REVIEWS are correct

Gamurs 2.0

Fucking hell :(((((

Running out of gaming websites that I’m still willing and happy to visit.

What a shit show of an industry.

Employee-owned businesses are starting to seem like the only ethical, high quality options.

Business bros can’t accomplish anything except personal enrichment at the expense of everything.

It’s obvious, but it’s also a bit weak from a rhetorical standpoint so people might still be willing to engage with it. You’ve just put an extra step between the point you’re refuting and refutation of the point you’re trying to make.

This feels like a trap where the response will be “oh yeah? What about humans?”

I’d hate to see it become a replacement for critically engaging with ideas or writing. But surely it can help some people with some things in some cases. Maybe there’s a question about how not to throw out the proverbial baby with the bath water, and maybe there’s an answer. Hopefully we find one.

I need to begrudgingly admit there’s value to these services, although it is through gritted teeth because of the damage it has done to my industry combined with ethical concerns.

I just have no solid idea how to approach the topic responsibly, as an individual or as a society.

Appraising them in good faith, I think it’s admirable that their main drive is a desire to learn. AI might represent the path of least resistance for them. Kinda reminds me of people “asking Jeeves” instead of using search terms on search engines because it was a familiar interaction.

This feels especially true in cases where people are utilizing AI as an accessibility tool to navigate around barriers (language, educational, etcetera). I think a lot of people are using it because they want access to information, and weren’t taught how to properly access reliable sources.

It is being pushed by companies and included in so many products and interfaces. People are going to use it.

Damage control, at this point (barring any legislation/regulation), should maybe revolve around teaching people how to verify and encourage skepticism.

Been thinking about this a lot lately and, while I am by no means a fan of AI, I feel like my original approach to talking about it was more akin to “abstinence only” education. I’m trying to find a way of talking about it that doesn’t shame people, but instead informs them of the risks and concerns

I am an unapologetic diehard lover of the romcom genre, and would struggle to make a list like this. I like some real dopey ones.

I can imagine a lot of people who published articles on Gamurs sites are rushing to back up their posts somewhere.

Obviously there are a lot of ways to do this, but I liked using Obsidian and the web clipping tool.

Formats nicely, includes meta data and images, and is easy to organize.

Read the quoted post over lunch today, along with a great recent feature by @xoxogossipgita.bsky.social on Tweet roundups and how people frame discussions online.
