The U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran are illegal.
Iran's attacks in Gulf States are illegal.
The U.K. defending Gulf States is legal, but allowing the U.S. to use its bases is illegal.
In short, everyone is violating international law and should stop.

Opinion | Trump’s Strikes on Iran Were Unlawful. Here’s Why That Matters.
The strikes on Iran are blatantly illegal. I explained in June why the strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities were unlawful under US and international law. Everything I wrote then is true today, but this is a far larger assault with far graver consequences.

The American-Israeli Strikes on Iran are (Again) Manifestly Illegal
After weeks of threats, the United States, joined by Israel, has launched military strikes against Iran. It remains to be seen whether these strikes will be fairly limited, or are the opening of an ex...
"Whatever happens, though, one thing is clear – that this use of force by the US and Israel is manifestly illegal. It is as plain a violation of the prohibition on the use of force in Article 2(4) of the UN Charter as one could possibly have."

Something to do for journalists: which bases is the us using for the attacks and what do those governments say (Al-Udeid, Ramstein, Diego Garcia?)

Nothing preventive here
This is textbook aggression from Israel and the US, in flagrant violation of the UN Charter.

We must urgently stop the blatant breach of international law by the US and her companies. Time to adopt an effective blocking statute and live up to the EU-ICC Agreement which guarantees mutual assistance.

This framing of 'the EU has never done multiple speed Europe' seems like a product of way too short institutional memory.
Since the 1980s, major EU integration often happened in avantgarde groups, be it the Euro, Schengen, EU Patent, EU Public Prosecutor. The real change is a different one.

The High representative can always publish a statement - without even consulting the Member States - as long as it's based on an "established position" of the EU. And surely there are established positions about inviolability of borders, self determination etc. 1/3

The next chance for the Supreme Court to rule that these kind of tariffs are illegal and that the law Trump is using was never meant for this kind of thing will be on Tuesday, when the justices said new decisions will be announced.

About | UNITED NATIONS | International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals
By establishing the Mechanism, the Council has helped to guarantee that the closure of the two pioneering ad hoc tribunals does not open the way for impunity to reign once more. President Theodor Mero...
Just noticed another puzzling entry: the US will withdraw from MICT - the residual mechanism to handle the winding-up of the international criminal tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda. MICT was established by the UNSC. Does that mean US will e.g. veto further extensions of MICT's mandate?
