Last Sunday on Evolution Weekend, I started my sermon with two questions: Do you believe in gravity? Do you know God loves you? And then went on to talk about the interplay of science and faith.

This is why I think Austen is overrated. I don’t mind messes if I feel something about the protagonists in a story, but I find it hard to feel anything for her characters. Not even disdain.

Having studied the Creationist wing of Christianity fairly extensively, I would say that any science that “messes” with Creation/God’s Will, denies human superiority, or demonstrates that the Bible is not a literal account of how the world works becomes a target.

South Texas is a beautiful place to visit between November 1 and March 31 when you won’t sweat to death walking 10 feet from your door to your car. But living there in true summer April 1-October 31, or anywhere in Texas as a sane person, no way. I left in 1987 and never went back but to visit.

Also, what these folks fail to understand is that many, likely most, moderates, left-leaning, and Progressive folks have a deep desire for personally monogamous relationships, just not limited solely to the man-woman option. And understand that some want polyamorous relationships without opprobrium.

Oh, but since we didn’t expect to make the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl, you can’t put a stake in our hearts this year.

This is so stupid. After every mass shooting event, we’re told, “It’s not the guns.” This is literally lying about “the gun” to excuse murder. 🤬

No. Politicians haven’t reached different conclusions. Some of them have chosen to lie and deceive because they think they can’t tell the truth without losing their power within the system they have enabled to kill indiscriminately. That would make them vulnerable to the same behavior.
