Super Mario World has an extremely eclectic art style whereby many enemies are drawn in completely different ways. Development files reveal Mario went through many stylistic changes; it is possible that all the enemies were made to fit Mario, but at different points in time.

This game being "Animal Crossing but PokΓ©mon" won't save it, especially considering Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which means more support for it.
I think "most physical games require a download to even work nowadays" is one of my strongest pet peeves in that it will get me to pick fights with strangers if seen in the wild lol
there is considerable data about this exact thing and it is just plain false. Stop handing that one to publishers.
