For the first time in my life, I paid my tab, wrote $0.00 on the tip line, signed it and left. I don’t think I’ll be back to that particular establishment again.

Then today, the same shock accompanied by crushing defeat that I felt the next day– 8 years ago, still.

Today I was visiting my mom. We decided to go out for lunch. During our meal, an elderly white man walks in the restaurant. Hands lifted in the air, chanting “Hail Trump! Hail Trump!”

I, like many others, feel very disheartened today. Anxious and worried over what could happen next.

Waking up this morning and looking at my phone was devastating- I refuse to either sugarcoat, nor exaggerate, my feelings.
