Inspecting the old LED indicator panel board, it does appear that at some point there was a short, as there appears to be a black mark that shouldn't be there. Potentially physically damaged in some way from impact. This laptop has been through plenty of air travel. Still going strong at 11 years.

It took me a little while but I tracked down the cause of the random screen flicker and touchpad disable/reenable on my laptop: A faulty hall sensor, aka faulty lid closure sensor. I was able to get a hold of a replacement indicator panel board, reassemble, and it's fixed. I still got that touch.

But...WHY?

A tiny group of people (A) wants to control what you (B) think, feel, do, and say -- and they know absolutely nothing of you.

It was about the time of year to wipe all the old junk off my profile feed. It's always interesting to see where my mind was at various points throughout the year. Anyway clean board, and I think I'll try to avoid too much political shit going forward because it's too goddamn depressing.

And four of them...four cops (3 standing around looking dumber than the 1 doing any work) to detain a guy who stood on a sidewalk and calmly spoke while burning a piece of cloth in a nice neat pile on the sidewalk. Good god what a bunch of dumbassery.
