Didn't think the 2-screens were widescreen but could be wrong.
Closest machine I saw was the 2-screen X-Men. They did some amazing things with arcade games back in the day!

Most of them had 3 screens I believe. I never saw one out in the wild unfortunately but must have been quite an experience!

Been there...sometimes doing what you're doing is the only way to get to the bottom of it. Very annoying when you just want to crack on!
Good luck!
Lots of them were made by one child...

Put a normal pot (of same rating, size, pin spacing) where the original was.
Bypass the power switch by connecting the wires on opposite sides of the switch together. Check continuity of the switch to make sure you connect the right ones.
Hard to find a direct replacement, I believe.
Worst case you could put a standard pot in for volume and bypass the power switch part (always on). Then power it on/off at the wall.
I didn't realise Taito did a Defender cabinet. I prefer the look of that to the Williams one (*ducks*)

This article is nonsense, did AI write it?
It says the game 'was developed specifically for the Vectrex Mini' which isn't true - it was made for real Vectrex. The article even has a picture showing a real Vectrex with PCB inserted.
RoadBlasters has a unique controller - it uses optics (not potentiometer). (And only one axis)

For anyone after a copy of Vyrzon for #vectrex, the US / GCE style version is now available from Sean Kelly!:

I agree, it can be frustrating having to alter levels when they don't feel right. I'm not doing background gfx so that's one thing less for me...but then it means the enemies alone have to keep the levels interesting.
7 stages of 3-5 mins sounds ideal. I'm aiming for about the same if space allows.
That's good going. Designing levels is not easy and very time consuming, for me at least.
How many stages are you going to have in total?
Looking good! How long does it take you to make a stage?

Hey Scott, thanks! It's built on the original Vyrzon code so some of it is still more or less the same, but large chunks have been rewritten (enemy & level handling mainly).
Glad to hear you're still enjoying the original!
Thank you!
A new production of the original Vyrzon is in progress, I will post here when it's available...
Thanks!

28.11.2025 10:18 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I could do something like that, aside from the regenerating...at the moment the bosses can have multiple parts, but when destroyed that part is gone for good. I could add an invisible 'part' for the shield easily enough...
