Ill try it, Im kinda fully in the Steinberg universe, Cubase Pro is a beast in terms of MIDI, routing, and audio control. Haven’t tried DAW better than Cubase for my workflow, but I appreciate Logic and Ableton. But I always love to try new stuff.

In a time where musicians are getting screwed from every corner, we need to fight back. Drop in the comments any platforms that are good alternatives to Bandcamp, places where we can actually sell our music, not just stream it. Asking for myself too. Thanks!

Apparently the reason is lower fees. But that doesn't make sense because artist will now have to ether pay for LLC and US bank (aprox $150 yearly) or just accept it and leave Bandcamp.

It will be in the next few months but they will cut it off at some point, I'm guessing, end of the year.

Estimated affected creators; Possibly tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands...

Yup, so artists like Meteor etc. Will ether have to open a non US entity LLC in the US or stop using Bandcamp.

This isn’t about convenience. It’s about access and fairness.

Even though I personally own a U.S. LLC and will still get paid,
I can’t stay quiet about this.
My principles don’t allow me to.
This decision cuts off thousands of hardworking artists across the world especially in places where Stripe simply doesn’t operate.

If you’re from one of these countries and don’t have a U.S. company, you won’t be able to receive money from Bandcamp anymore.

This change affects a huge number of artists worldwide.

Let’s hope Bandcamp finds a better solution for international creators.

Europe (non-EU): Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Moldova, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine (partially)…
Latin America: Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua…
Middle East: Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, Iraq…
Other: Myanmar, North Korea, and several small island nations.

Here’s a list of countries that don’t have access to Stripe right now:

Africa: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Algeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Sudan…
Asia: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Nepal, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan…

Bandcamp payouts now require Stripe, and that’s a big problem.
Bandcamp is removing PayPal for artist payouts and going Stripe-only.
That means if Stripe doesn’t work in your country, you won’t be able to get paid… unless you own a U.S. based company (like an LLC).

An yes, I started with this project(s), working on 24 new tracks (basically two albums). Not rushing it, and having a proper studio setup really makes a difference. Oh, and before anyone asks, yes, I’ve got a day job. I make music at night, 4 to 6 hours a day. It’s possible. You just need a plan.

I did this with my last album and gained 30k new listeners. The only mistake I made? I was releasing tracks every week, and that was too much. Every two weeks is the sweet spot.

Here’s one of the best music marketing tips I can give you:
Make two 12track albums. Then start releasing one track every two weeks, for a whole year. While you’re doing that, work on collabs and create another one or two albums so you can keep the momentum going after the first two are out. ⬇️

I’m not the biggest fan of Black Sabbath or Ozzy, so I’m not here to make a cheesy post. But there are a few tracks I truly love, like War Pigs. The world just lost one of the greatest frontmen ever, a true dark prince who went out with a bang. And honestly that’s so damn cool πŸ’ͺ Rest in power Ozzy!
