do not be fooled by swen vincke's CEOspeak. larian is using genAI to help with gameplay development and will use genAI to generate "creative assets" with data they claim to own.

i understand the sentiment here but I feel it's more limiting to pigeon hole D&D video games into NECESSITATING character creation and having a playable party.

the forgotten realms are a rich backdrop for any kind of story and game really, i think its cool we're getting something different!

it's not just critics, it's damn near everyone. if you actually looked at the whole screenshot, you would've seen that's what i was trying to convey

critics suck, BUT if both critics and general audiences alike are giving universal praise to a piece of media, then yeah, maybe that says something

people can not like something, but a game doesn't get *this* level of praise for just simply appealing to some people's tastes. it speaks of true quality, why else would it be so revered?

normally i *dont* use reviews to prove a point about a game's quality

but this is a different case, it's damn near universal praise from both critics *and* the general audience.
4.9 stars out of like 70k players (not critics) on PS says something about quality, and that's just one instance
