EEG brain waves and alpha rhythms: Past, current and future direction
Nearly a century after the first EEG recordings, we assess the progress made in EEG research, focusing on the challenges, novel theories and methods, …
🚨 New 2-in-1 paper: a review on #EEG brain oscillations (www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...) and a website with recorded talks from a symposium that featured 8 speakers discussing the present and future of the field (brain-waves-workshop.github.io/2024/).

... wherein @mkopcanova.bsky.social observes that a link between response speed and alpha power - a frequently reported brain-behaviour relationship - disappears when controlling for time-on-task. We therefore argue for an inclusion of t-o-t in brain-behaviour analyses. #neuroskyence /1

Is there a specific mechanism behind neural entrainment, or is it merely a byproduct of rhythmic stimulation?
Our findings support true entrainment, with novel oscillatory and adaptive signatures that cannot be explained by evoked or resonant responses.
