that is a CLASSIC technique i employ actually. if i'm ever unsure about something, i'll make it its own layer and save an unedited copy so i can tweak it to my heart's content! (even if sometimes i'll go through all that trouble just to decide it's fine just the way it is.....)

my process while drawing could politely be called "The Kitchen Sink Method" because i try literally everything with a drawing as i'm working on it. it means i'm especially bad at planning ahead on a piece 😭

drawing something without putting a sketch layer down will always be so impressive to me. to me that's like a level 1000 art skill
