You’re right, the root cause of these fires, floods and other disasters is our consumption of fossil fuels. The planet is burning while everyone fiddles. I go crazy thinking about how everyone just shrugs it off.

Thanks for reaching out. The smoke was very disturbing for me, too. I felt like I was under house arrest. None of my garden work was getting done. I’d dash out for a little while to harvest and water, then back inside. Due to medical history, I have to protect myself.

I’ve likely been there or very near. You bring back memories. Spent many a night in a tent or sleeping in a vehicle alongside impassible roads, waiting for the road to dry. If a person goes into those places, they need to take it seriously and be prepared. Tourists do insanely foolish things.
