Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. (beta)

A beta version of the steam port of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Shodown was available to play recently on PC. I put a good few hours in and dusted off my old Goh Hinogami combos and tech rolls.

The rollback connection was honestly great!

Yeah I feel the movement options in VF really benefit from using a stick 👌🕹

Virtua Fighter

Can you believe the first version of VF5 was actually released in 2006 in Japanese arcades?! That was near 20 years ago and we are getting ANOTHER version of VF5 in 2025 for PC!

PS2 was the absolute best era for home fighting games.

Prior to the PS2 consoles weren't powerful enough to run arcade fighting games faithfully. Often having to lose things like speed, frames of animation or even worse!

PS2 ports for the most part were incredibly close to the arcade versions.
