Easy to forget how radical and unlike anything else this sounded in 1985. Took its cue from the VU and punk but set the template for shoegaze and alternative rock, making it one of the most influential albums from that era.

Yeah, I think this one could do rather well. There‘s a reason for it though: it‘s bloody brilliant. Also has some personal relevance for me, as I listened to it a LOT in my first Summer after moving to England.

The B-52s - Rock Lobster
A product of the post-punk era but also an amalgamation of post-war American pop culture: surf rock, rockabilly, some Yoko Ono (Lennon noticed!), it‘s all there, but still fun and original.
Oh, that‘s a good one. Probably my favourite Doors song. That piano bit is just wonderful.

FWIW, in the Star Wars sequel trilogy that exists in MY head, it‘s Jar Jar who ends up saving the universe because a) it kind of actually makes sense from a dramaturgical standpoint (why else introduce him in Ep I), and b) trolling haters is fun.
