Day 27: A song you consider a masterpiece
The B-52s - Rock Lobster
A product of the post-punk era but also an amalgamation of post-war American pop culture: surf rock, rockabilly, some Yoko Ono (Lennon noticed!), itβs all there, but still fun and original.
Oh, thatβs a good one. Probably my favourite Doors song. That piano bit is just wonderful.

Post a jedi... wrong answers only:
FWIW, in the Star Wars sequel trilogy that exists in MY head, itβs Jar Jar who ends up saving the universe because a) it kind of actually makes sense from a dramaturgical standpoint (why else introduce him in Ep I), and b) trolling haters is fun.

27.02.2026 18:37 β π 115 π 16 π¬ 169 π 3The humour in Resident Evil games is often undersold, but there are some genuinely (very darkly) funny moments in Requiem (eg. a cleaner zombie complaining about the blood on the wall), without which the horror would probably be unbearable since parts of it are even more disturbing than RE7.

Day 27: A song from 1995
Everything But The Girl - Missing (Todd Terry Mix)
The remix was a mega-hit, top 3 in virtually every country, you absolutely couldn't avoid it... which is fine, since it's easily one of the best songs of the 90s. π
Resident Evil Requiem seamlessly shifts between tone and view to create yet another horrifying evolution for the franchise.

A classic black-and-white portrait photograph of Dr. Frances Oldham Kelsey (1914β2015), the pioneering Canadian-American pharmacologist and FDA medical officer renowned for blocking thalidomide's approval in the United States. She is shown in a formal head-and-shoulders pose against a plain studio background, gazing directly at the camera with a calm, intelligent, and resolute expression. Her dark hair is neatly styled in soft waves, parted on the side, and she wears a simple dark blazer or jacket over a white collared blouse, embodying professionalism, quiet determination, and the courage that defined her career as a trailblazer in drug safety regulation and women's contributions to science and public health.
Dr. Frances Oldham Kelsey single-handedly blocked the "wonder drug" thalidomide (US, FDA, 1960) & saved American children from severe birth defects.
The first woman to earn a PhD in pharmacology, she used her expertise and immense courage to defy intense industry pressure. #WomenInSTEM (1/2)

John Cale released Paris 1919 #OnThisDay in 1973.
One of the most ambitious and audacious 'pop' records of all time, Cale's haunting melodies mixed with the baroque strings makes for an album that reveals character and insight with each listen.
A genuine masterpiece.

Debbie Harry appeared in the Muppet Show on 25 January 1981. Robin's Frog Scout troop visits the show, getting in everyone's way backstage. They ask Debbie for help earning their punk merit badges, and she teaches them how to do the pogo. #Blondie #DebbieHarry
