As an organization that touts its efforts of social justice and equity, we see this as a failure of the board to carry out its mission. The NLRB defines "supervisors" as having the power to hire, fire, discipline, promote, or assign tasks to workers. These 2 employees do not hold those powers. 3/

The Guild — which represents the 15 union-eligible workers who unanimously authorized the union — is disappointed by this news and particularly disappointed by the reason the board gave for refusing to voluntarily recognize: they want to exclude 2 of our colleagues. 2/
