Despite abysmal active transport infrastructure, more people are cycling. This is great news.
Imagine what we could achieve if we actually provided people with the world class active transport infrastructure they deserve.

Bicycle parking takes parking space away from one vehicle.
Vehicle parking takes living space from hundreds of people.
One is more controversial than the other.

Really excited to see this. More of this, please! It's officially opening today. We need more places that cater to older folks who still want to live independently.

A good example of the huge disconnect in this government between their love of saying yes to lobbying versus their ability/willingness to actually do stuff.

Jesus, another two teenagers killed on our roads last night.
That brings the total of people who have died on Irish Roads in less than 2 months to 25.
A sobering figure.

7 deaths on our roads over the weekend including a 16 y/o girl walking her dog.
Why the obsession over hi-vis? Why the reduction in active travel funding?
Where are the 30km/h zones?
Where are the red light cameras?
Why no enforcement?
Why aren't intelligent speed systems default on new cars?
There was (rightly!) an outcry after that young girl was killed by someone a Scrambler bike. We need the same outcry for the young girl this weekend killed by a motorist while on a PEDESTRIAN CROSSING.
Lives are being destroyed while the government wring their hands & do nothing to improve safety.

Corporatisation of seaweed harvest would be a significant negative step for the west

We firmly oppose this measure, as existing evidence indicates that such laws do not, in fact, protect people who cycle.
The union should be calling for better active transport infrastructure instead of deflecting responsibility to the most vulnerable people on the roads.
