this is good

soup and toastie restaurant

in norway i am calling this business resteranten and in english perhaps it is called yesterday’s soups

business idea: soup restaurant but all the food is extra delicious because it’s leftovers that were cooked the day before

so my biggest soup discovery is that adding dark tahini (i just go to the local middle eastern shop and buy whatever looks the darkest) is incredible for adding smoothness and umami to soups — i’ve done pumpkin, beetroot, roasted pepper, and broccoli recently with it and they were all fantastic

fortunately we have two copies of the little red book (one is in german)

I haven’t heard it called this but i’ve had a decent number of students say they do it as a way of maintaining focus — I sometimes do this while editing because it stops me skimming something I think i know, so i can see why it might be helpful

yes all the links to individual library catalogues also seem to be broken for me so i have to go to each one individually (and search by isbn to confirm they don’t actually have the book…)

what is the point of allowing me to search by isbn if you’re just going to pull every catalogue entry with the same title? why are we bothering with unique identifiers at all?

actually more common is that I attempt to search all libraries rather than just “featured libraries” and then it forces me to sign in to actually use the catalogue for its intended purpose

perhaps my fellow pinterest dickheads know this already but you can turn off ai recommendations in settings and no longer get served up two hundred variations on the same eerily plushy living room when you search for decorating ideas

so they changed the title of the two-volume norton from “the norton anthology: major authors” to “the norton anthology: shorter edition” and I’m choosing to believe there is still someone who is really annoyed that nobody supported their suggestion of calling it “the shortened norton”
