Yo hang in there. My contract for my job ends in July and I still have no skills besides audio (mainly music composition). And since I'm in Japan my options are even more limited because I'm still not fluent enough in Japanese yet.

Godscrown - Open Collective Making a game, and paying the people who build it.

I am two months away from being homeless with my wife and child.

I've been applying for jobs every day, reaching out to hiring managers and recruiters to no response.

In the meantime, I've also been working on Godscrown! Which is going well, but it could certainly use some funding!

Time to test this out!

spent some time implementing a new mechanic: your Weaves (re: spells) now use a shared party resource called Charge instead of Energy. this makes them easier to use, but requires you to ration your Charge carefully, though defeating a foe restores some Charge

We're in the same boat man. Even coming to Japan was a bust for me. I still haven't found anything that worked out for me yet, but let's continue this fight together!

In 12 hours cleaned up a bunch of bugs and my to do list. The game has been updated so much with more NPCs and things to do in 1.0.4. Chapter 2 is also being worked on but that isn't in the demo.

This would make a good shout out for today!

Grim does friendly, relaxed and very enjoyable streams of (usually) slightly retro games

He holds the glitchless Mortal Shell speed run record, made the splendid Curtains The Clown (store.steampowered.com/app/3766820/...) and is a generally great guy

Last thing I'll say is that I love this game man. You should be proud of what you have done and that youre already building a fan base

I'm also struggling man. Even my free music pack only got 14 downloads so far. People just gotta sign up to get it, and only 14 so far!

But there's lots to do still, and we gotta push through.

Bro we creatives are taking the hard path. Trying to make money in our fields is like trying to swim upstream in a rapid. I feel exactly as you do, but we gotta accept these heartbreaks are gonna come in droves on the way.

I've also been having trouble sharing videos on here recently. Just too much to deal with. So besides talking to my like 2-3 BSky friends, I'm pretty much done with this app.

Man, I'm not feeling Bluesky anymore. It's just a bunch of bot reposts and not as organized as other platforms. Also, I can interact with my favorite composers elsewhere, but they're not on here.

spent most of this week working on the blacksmith's texture, which i used as an opportunity to try and really nail the art style i want for character models. i'd been very ad hoc before, so i wanted a process i could follow to be consistent. happy with the result!
