My mother’s famous comeback of “well people in hell want ice water” comes to mind.

It’s been worse than ever this year, particularly this semester.

If we have electronic access to a book, that’s not enough for them. They want the PDF or nothing else.

More often than not I’m the copyright police these days.

I don’t know how many different ways I can say “no, we cannot just provide you a PDF copy of this book” and not go into copyright and licensing education.

I have avoided it the last few years because we ended up owing. This year we're getting a little back so the avoidance was not necessary.

I did not want to do my homework so bad last night I opted to do our taxes instead.

My issue is I feel like he’s never gone away. How can we nostalgically enjoy him if he never went away long enough for us to miss him.

Also in chicago, he was everywhere. I don’t need him doing cubs coverage and on the cover of cat fancy.

My mom:

Me: I think I’m gonna stay up and watch SNL as one of the dudes from Heated Rivalry is on. I’ll try to stay up until at least weekend update

It’s super hard to believe I used to be a night owl.

Leaving professional development homework that I’m behind on till Friday afternoon has been a terrible plan.

There’s no motivation and the weekend is calling loudly.

I’m all about the glitter, but I’m over the sparkles in my vision. They are way more tiring than I expected.

Haha I’ve had similar thoughts about performance rights.

There’s also a ton of IP violations with “merch” I’ve seen out there.

Normally at the end of the academic year I do some maintenance and clean up my inbox.

I decided to do it today. Just a little late.

My inbox has been reflective of my last 7 months of health woes.

Clearly the Shane/Ilya story lines are a fan favorite reread.

I think Ilya at least shows up in all books but not so much the timelines are goofed if you hop.

It’s a weird time to be labeled a “pediatric patient” and be told children’s frames may work for me, while also dealing with classically old people eye problems.

Some sickness has gone through both my department and a neighboring department and I’m super grateful to be away from the office still.

Last night our pup graduated obedience classes. He took home the top prize which is no surprise considering all the work my husband has put in to training him.

The pinch collar helped. We called it the “disassociation collar” bc when we put it on he would zone out like he was anywhere but there.

The general consensus is the cheap dollar store readers look good on me.

Think I may have to get green frames when I end up with my final prescription.

The amount of ridiculous things I have experienced health wise this last year is comedic. You’re either laughing or crying and I’m choosing laughter.

I now have my optometrist’s personal cell phone number so that’s something I guess.

I grew up near Chicago in Indiana and I agree.

I’m not sure NWI is prepared for the influx of anything related to this even if they need the boost of money.

Fans are not prepared to get railroaded on their way to or from games.

*to the tune of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” Spell my name, spell my name. It’s right there in the email. It’s not a hidden details. The spelling doesn’t change.

I think of this every time someone goes rogue with the spelling of my name in an email.

I get it. My name is not spelled how you think. But it’s. Right. There.

Yeah I had Norco with that and I absolutely hated the way I felt. Give me two Advils and I’m good.

They also looked at her X-rays and she was just bone rubbing on bone. But only like a 5 on the pain scale. Classic mom.

But it reminds me of when my mom had knee replacement surgery. At her consultation, the doc asked her pain level and she said maybe a 5 or 6. My sister and I had to tell the doc her 5 or 6 is like someone else’s 8 or 9.

I must come by it naturally.

Eye doc told me I must have a high pain tolerance because most people would be complaining about a small complication and I was like oh, I haven’t even taken Tylenol for it.

I’ve decided uphill skiing is my favorite thing I’ve seen at these Olympics. Watching athletes awkwardly go uphill is adorable.

Why do I have to call you to schedule when email exists?
