Northumberland County Council - Tynedale travel corridor work gets underway Construction work is underway to create a new walking and cycling route in Tynedale.

β€œIn Tynedale work has now started on the link between Hexham train station and Corbridge, improving both local connections within Hexham and encouraging active travel trips between Hexham and Corbridge.”

unspoiled and 'resemble something from a postcard', we all must promote first & foremost sustainable and active modes of transport.

NCC declared a climate emergency in 2019 and an ecological emergency in 2023. Transport on our roads is still one of the main contributors to carbon emissions.

Whilst public transport is a good alternative to driving & should be encouraged where possible, we still need to get there first. So, how do you do that? Most people will either walk or cycle & will worry about safe routes to get there or where to securely store their bike. Our response reflect that
