It stands to reason that a good part of why we don’t see this in modern times is that funding artists on an individual basis isn’t generally tax write-off-able 😔 But also the arts and music have been de-valued here for a long time

What places did you visit while on tour?

That sounds similar in a way to stories I have from when I worked summers on cruise ships (weirdest and best summer job ever) and hung out with the Russian dance/ballet folks :D

If I remember correctly we did Respect as well as Rock Steady in the set which were really great. One of the coolest moments though was when she went to the piano and sang a few songs without the band - just her on the piano. I didn't realize how great a pianist she was as well.
