It would be cool! But I'd rather keep the terrain so the player can traverse the room again later.
Also, since it's a GameBoy game, making the terrain blocks disappear in real time would be quite taxing, and this is a pretty complex scene already!

That's a good point, I didn't really take that into account. Thanks for pointing it out! There is indeed enough time to run to the left and not get hit.
Progression would be blocked, but exiting and entering the room would solve it, but better to prevent that situation from happening anyway!

Luminox's caves are home to many dangerous creatures, including... worms.
This enemy is responsible for moving rock and dirt around, in order to create tunnels.
An enemy peeks from behind the dirt. It's purpose? To drill and dig, incessantly...
Water, spikes and worms. How could anyone possibly traverse this room? If only we had some kind of upgrade to deal with all these hazards...
The caves underneath Luminox.
The Architect didn't waste any time. His machines were deployed in order to dig and expand his dominion.
Luminox clearly has been altered beyond recognition, with machines now operating in every corner.

A generator room, currently it has no power.
A mechanical spring in the middle of a spike pit. Careful platforming is required!
A landing site with a stationed ship. Could troopers from the Galactic Firm have landed on Luminox aswell?
A menacing enemy stands in the middle of the room. Prepare to fight!

Even though it gives off vibes of being a technologically advanced planet, you'll be able to explore natural and colorful biomes aswell.

Colors are fun! That's the selling point of the GameBoy Color.
