I'm not sure I'll ever understand why, regardless of what they were or were not doing, so many right-wing Americans think shooting someone in the head several times is the logical, deserved response.

It's arguably the biggest cultural difference between Europe and the US.

I've cancelled, which breaks my heart because it's potentially my favourite annual event, but I wouldn't feel safe anymore. I've had it easy over the years - was taken for questioning once, but thankfully that was at Dublin pre-clearance - but I'm too scared to go now.

I'm one of those skipping, and I bloody love GDC *and* San Francisco.
