“Where should we take our walk this evening, Noct?” His answer came in the form of a soft huff and a gentle head bump against his thigh. Ignis chuckled. “Of course I had not forgotten. Lead on.” The air had a bite to it tonight although not enough to make Ignis regret not bringing a coat and despite Noctis’ inclination to not take long walks, preferring to sprawl across the sofa at home instead, Ignis knew the distance to their destination would be sufficient to warm him. Noctis’ claws clicked on the pavement beside him – paws and footsteps creating the only notable sounds along the quiet residential streets. There wouldn’t be much activity around until the village hall emptied. With only a few nudges from Noctis to steer Ignis away from some cars half parked on the pavement they made their way towards Kingness’ churchyard and the patch of woodland that bordered it. There were nearly to their destination when Noctis stopped to scratch at the churchyard’s wooden gate. Ignis reached over for the latch his fingers made clumsy with anticipation and something not helped by the pathetic whine from his side. “I’m just as impatient as you are. Give me a moment.” The metal latch gave a satisfying clunk and the gate could swing open allowing Noctis to push his way through the widening gap first.
