-please remember that many working pros are happy to mentor, discuss aspects of the job, and answer questions, as long as our time is respected

adding this one, because I've participated in a number of projects like these over the years, and the chances of getting a "thank you" afterward are 50/50

-please give your students enough time to reach out, conduct interviews, schedule visits

And do this *keeping in mind* if the students are only allowed to do so during the one-hour window a day your class takes place. Also: time zones are a thing.

just a note for educators assigning projects to students that involve interviewing/shadowing any kind of pro on the job:

-please teach them how to write a polite query

This should include a greeting (using the pro's name, spelled correctly) and information about the project parameters
