I can't find the interview at the moment but I really appreciated what Stackpole said about Vlad and other more dislikeable characters in Battletech: that if the character is dislikeable, then Stackpole felt he succeeded. This made me appreciate Vlad more even though I hate his guts lol

The Shadow Hawk IIC in Mechwarrior 5 Clans is such a fun workhorse and I'm glad the early Wolf campaign is focused on light and medium mechs against heavy Comstar opposition. It makes things much more interesting, imo.

With all the advanced visual effects going on, Mechwarrior 5 Clans can look really impressive and reminds me of those pre-rendered 'bullshots' we use to get in the 90s and 00s, except here, it's all real-time.

NG+ is already in Clans.

I like that there’s much more light and medium mechs in the campaign, I’m so tired of assault and heavy deathballs. It cheapens the importance of mechs and just turn them into fodder.

the mod editor was released 5 years ago and I can tell you as someone who's done around 100 mods by now for it that things are much more stable now and has been for quite a while.

It plays well enough. You may need to lower the difficulty since it's much easier with mouse+kbm to target and so on. But the immersion factor with a HOTAS system is just too good. Add VR to the mix and it's a dream come true
