I've been saying all along that EA is preying on creators via the EACN, now finally someone said it out loud. I wish more would speak up about it.

I'm gonna say it: I fucking hate how many creators I genuinely enjoy have agreed to participate in this.

I 100% believe that the morale at Maxis is extremely low, and empathise with the developers. This does not, however, soften the blow of the marketplace existing as a model in the first place, and should not distract anyone's attention from the issue at hand. Some of you are too nice.

Perhaps this is a extreme take but I don't have any respect, none, for anyone still in the creator network for multiple reasons I don't have enough characters here to address, but I'll say this, the ship is sinking. There's never been a better time for them to get out now and diversify their content

The marketplace math: creators do all the work for free, company invests nothing, takes 70%. That’s a 100% margin built on independent contractors with no job security, benefits, or employment protections. it devalues game developers and artists too, and I really hope this blows in their face.

Please don’t let any corporate entity convince you that exposure is a valid currency.

This aged like milk lol. If you told me past me that I turned down that other offer, she would have knocked my teeth out. Scary how quickly things can change.

Might still make that mid-century collection, but it'll be to my own schedule and standards, won't be a kit and it won't be on the store.

I feel like making CC for the first time in a year. And I want it to be everything the marketplace isn’t. Colorful, quirky and free. I guess…you should just embrace the sims for what you want it be right now. And ignore all that other 💩.

I'm amazed at the fact it took them so long to launch this marketplace idea, it's all that could be expected from EA : a virtual currency to trick you into not thinking in terms of real money, only 30% given to creators, a lot of restrictions for creators and people who download this stuff...

This is now a multi-account compromise. Do NOT download ANY updates from Mod the Sims for now. And please remember that decor objects and clothes and furniture are NOT script mods... Be suspicious.
