Protecting yourself should not be shunned or mobbed. Block them, stop talking to them, move on. You have a right to continue your life without the toxic person in it. Because, like I have found, there are others who give an actual care about you and your efforts to make them happy.
No shame in that.

If you see the signs, the red flags, the instances that make you feel sick... do not ignore them. If you have tried time and time again, and they refuse to be aided. Do not tell yourself you can help them. Fix them. Do not stand by them and rot away for someone that does not care about you.

They do not blame others, they take accountability in their actions. They do not use the past as their excuse. They seek to be better, ACTUALLY better than false promises of fixing their life or habits. I am so grateful to have friends that had my back, warned me, and justified my feelings.

Now that we're here.
I'm actually feeling so much better, happier, and my soul feels cleaner. It's like an oil spill was strained from my ocean of love to give to people. The negativity is gone and I am certain that the people beside me now are genuine and healthy. Communication is my love language.
