At night, I can read an illuminated ebook in bed without turning on a distractingly bright light she can’t sleep through.

I just suddenly imagined a Betty and Veronica book illustrated by JRSR, and…it would be pretty fun to see that.

What’s funny is I do love a talented old school pin-up ink illustrator. I wish I had the kind of draftsman skills and supple line that could do it well.

But honestly, he’s just not in the caliber of any of the classics, anyway.

Ok, in the vanishingly rare times I actually get to go on vacation, ebooks are also so much less heavy than my old “well I better bring at least 7-8 books just in case” plan. “One beach paperback if applicable, the rest ebook” is better for carry on luggage.

But physical media rules for remembering a thing actually exists. If so many albums I love weren’t physically out of print and/or far too expensive in physical copies I would rely on digital music far less outside of driving, public transit or walks in places that aren’t very sonically soothing.

The main good thing about ebooks is it’s easier to search a library to see if you’ve bought it already, especially if it’s from the same online source.

Well that and right now I’m on between eyeglass prescriptions (FRIDAY, THANK GOD) and ebooks are so much easier to magnify if needed.
