Because to actually look at biblical texts as documents written by fallible humans at different times for different reasons would mean looking at them as capable of not being literal truth, which makes deriving the rapture from them an evident hogwash idea.

I’d allow for them saying it was human error in the transmission of the scriptural texts they use for their calculations, except pretty much anyone who believes in rapture theology considers believing those errors even being possible to be heresy!
