And is "pedagogy" is the new excuse for bold unfounded claims after "we need to catch the interest of the public"?

- you assume that a person who was a very productive researcher on one field can be relevant in another
- you assume that "brillant" people remains "brillant", but people sometimes lose their skills/sanity for various reasons
- you assume citation metric correlates with quality
Bravo à la collaboration lauréate!

I was searching for the cat. There was a strange bump on the guest bed. I looked under and clearly disturbed someone's nap.

Q1 Day – Euclid’s First ‘Quick’ Data Release
Today is Q1 Day! This means the first public release of data from the full Euclid Survey. It's only a very small portion (0.4%) of the survey - just 63 square degrees on the sky, while the full survey will be over 14,000 square degrees - but in contrast…

21.11.2023 16:08 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Lots of thing could happen (starbursts timescale shorter than the mergers, inefficient of mergers to trigger starbursts, selection effect...). A lot more needs to be done both on the observational and simulation side... Stay tuned!
21.11.2023 16:07 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The final result is there. Our object lies on the high-end of the relation found at lower redshift, but well-below high-z starbursts (red, brown). Despite their morpho-kinematics, our sample is thus not behaving as the extreme bursts studied before at this z. Why?
21.11.2023 16:06 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0This involves a couple of technicallities concerning the uncertainties. Please read the paper for more details...
21.11.2023 16:06 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0So far, it sounds great, but there is still a step. In many pixels, the SNR of the IR+UV SFR measurements is pretty bad. There is thus a flattening in KS relation at the low end in some object. It is artificial. To correct for it, we used averaged values per regions.
21.11.2023 16:06 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0We can remark that most of these sources are clearly not nice smooth disks as our star-forming spirals in the local Universe. You can also see that the UV and the IR does not see the same regions, since dust attenuation is varying a lot in these systems.

We see literally how the gas is distributed in galaxies 1 billions of years after the recombination. In bonus, I added VC875 observation at intermediate resolution observed after the master project.
