Not Terrible Curling

Not a good result for our team tonight. I curled well from the vice spot and didn’t die sweeping. Also swept effectively. A tad wide here and there but overall not mad about it. Don’t care about the results as much as working towards being a good dedicated ice curler.

Got a broomstones one from Drew and co in Phoenix last year. Spring Training or Hotter Than Hell, I don’t remember which Spiel. Appreciate the offer tho!

1st game of the season. We won the ends but lost the game. Couldn’t recover after the first end. Threw pretty well from lead considering various factors with the move, new ice, new team. Every rock from me was in play and most were where skipper wanted them. Lots to build off of.

Oh boy. I was able to get on ice at the club tonight. Leagues start next month. It’s been a long 3 months. Don’t know how you dedicated people do this every year.

Carl is tough for sure. Recruited him to be the vice for when Ridder came to skip for us. It was nice being on the other side of it!!

That’s the worst! Hate a bad rock. I also always forget until debriefing later and the it clicks. “Oh, that rock never curls properly.” Or whatever.

When I saw he was throwing last and not Kyle, I was like, uh oh.

I’m being unreasonable and blaming everyone. Stones & Stripes is somehow to blame as well. I haven’t figured out how, but I be blaming it too.

As said yesterday, no curling yet. But there was cleaning! 🧽 We were able to get our curling club fix by volunteering for summer cleaning.

Still not curling yet. BUT MY NEW BROOM CAME IN AND ITS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS I’VE EVER SEEN. Background is inside Nelda. We will likely be living in our converted school bus for another couple of months since our move. You can follow the insta Dawn runs for it at @adventureswithnelda.

Have a lot of friends in to it here in Austin. A buddy of mine started his own league.

I am excited to get more board game game time in. Also a lot of projects on our bus to work on. I understand that I need a break. Might try this whole “getting into shape” thing I hear about.

I’m not bad a curling, I’m terrible at golf. Might try the disc golf kind.
