We Don’t Know Where We Will End Up… A Year Since the 2024 Election

A lot of people need to read this.

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

With Thanksgiving and all of the various commercial shopping days coming up, particularly Giving Tuesday next week, I want to remind folks that giving money directly to ppl who need it is the most effective way to help them. Same with local grassroots orgs that are doing good work in your community.

If you're planning on shopping during black Friday or cyber Monday, why not consider supporting artists, writers, creators? Buy a book, purchase an indie video game, commission an art piece, gift someone a Patreon. Your support means everything.

Major sources of hate speech are located outside the US. Well yeah, we have this conversation every few months. And every few months people reject the bright shiny evidence that easiest way to ruin America is to feed the hate and bigotry that already exists here.

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.
