I got around this by casually CCing his boss on my reply saying "I think you should reconsider". Yes, I "let me speak to the manager"'d my way to graduating.

To be clear, I blame the school less than I blame the stupidity and ignorance of individuals on the ground level at that school. I had an AWFUL guidance counselor who despite my many emails and explanations as to what i was doing in tech refused to give me math credits for it. He wanted me to fail.

I GRADUATED FROM THAT TECH CLASS WITH THE HIGHEST HONORS THEY COULD GIVE. I WAS THE ONLY KID IN MY SCHOOL TO GET A PEAP AWARD.

But the district decided I was too stupid at math to understand how make computer work.

They made the requirements to take the class just high enough that I couldn't take the class. I applied to audit it, but the only class session was scheduled when I couldn't take it because I was going to a part time technical school...

I begged my school to have a computer science class. They said they used to have one. I lobbied my friends to ask for it, and because they were "good at math" they were listened to.

I was programming games in high school without any formal education, but I couldn't pass algebra. I was writing functions before I could understand their notation. Back then the attitude was that because I wasn't proficient in class I was too stupid to live and I felt it hard.
