It was great to speak at a roundtable organised by Montagu Evans LLP yesterday, where I set out @mayoroflondon.bsky.social's priorities for 2026. These include kickstarting housing delivery; developing a draft London Plan; and getting the Oxford Street transformation scheme on a firm footing.

In 2025, @london-fire.bsky.social attended 1,028 fires in homes where hoarding had taken place - the highest in recent years. This is a real danger facing some of our most vulnerable residents.

I was pleased to join @darrenpjones.bsky.social, Lord Peter Hendy, @stephencowan.bsky.social @richardolszewski.bsky.social, HS2’s Chair and CEO; and senior reps from the private sector at the launch.

Today, one of the two tunnel boring machines that will construct the tunnel from Old Oak Common to Euston was launched, bringing the completion of HS2 one step closer.
