Running a full Expo app without an Expo server, all in the browser with ServiceWorker (server), IndexedDB (fs) and ESModules (packages).
I just hope I get some time to write thoroughly about it in a blog.

After 8 years, 8 months and 9 days, marking the "native-base" npm package as deprecated.
with over 20,000 stars on GitHub and so many projects built on top of it, it evokes mixed emotions!
btw, the successor of NativeBase, gluestack-ui is going strong!
Oh that's nice!

Now we have AI that can generate relevant examples on demand. Code we can study, modify, and learn from. It's like having an infinite library of practical examples at our fingertips.
Do you think gpt/claude slow the learning down for new devs? 🤔
When I was starting out, I learned most of my coding by copying and modifying *QBasic examples* and *website source codes* — starting with working code and figuring out how things work was key to my learning.

A lot of junior devs are avoiding AI because they think it'll harm their learning. it's an interesting concern, but I see it differently.

thanks for the mention! I just hope people try it out from a fresh mindset! I miss the Adobe Flash & Visual Basic days!

Please don't do it! I know that search engines today are smart enough to point to the latest and greatest, but there have to be better ways.
4/4
Also, with AI-generated content and blogs only for building backlinks and targeting keywords, it's more noisy than ever.
I see people writing listicles referring to the top React Native UI libraries and including NativeBase without mentioning @gluestack.io.
3/4
There is no way to update that with the latest information other than writing more about it or updating the existing articles.
2/4
I feel bad about the outdated perception of open-source libraries and products.
Let's talk about @expo.dev. The internet is full of old reviews about ejecting and Expo vs. React Native and outdated information.
