…maybe two calls in the series in Minnesota and the countless times we saw umps calling Soto out on really egregiously bad third strike calls. Any of those makes the difference or the game I went to last weekend where they tied it, had the winning run on third in extras and Nimmo & Alvy struck out.

I’m tired of hearing the Mets didn’t deserve to advance because of how badly they played the last 100 games. The first 60 where they played so well are equal in weight so it’s a balance. What gets me is the number of games I remember losing directly due to bad umpire calls. Thinking of one (cont.)

Well Steve has had his say and it's appreciated. The starting point is bringing back Pete and Edwin - as they bear no responsibility for the shitshow of 2025 - work back from that. Then head quickly to the Starting Pitching and Centre Field areas and address them, vigorously.

However painful it may be, we’ll be recording our last podcast of the regular season tomorrow evening…

The New York Mets' collapse is one of the worst you'll ever see. Despite being 21 games over .500 in June and owning baseball's best record at the time, the Mets failed to make the playoffs. Making things worse, no one "chased" them down. They just blew it.

Tough to take. The third worst team in history that were 21 above 500 at one point.

Raley has been lights-out since coming back.

Yep. The Starting Pitching has been a joke. Players still making the same mistakes - just throw Vientos a slider away, even if it's 4 miles off the plate he'll swing at it a prime example. Since mid-June playing even below average Baseball would've seen them walk in...& they couldn't even do that.

Soto has been worth every penny. Pete the same. The rest of the off season acquisitions - how can I put this - haven't worked. Nothing we acquired at the trade deadline has worked. That's on the players, manager & GM. If I'm Mr Cohen I'm thoroughly pissed at what I've sat through over the back half.

$340m payroll to be the fifth worst side in the game for over three months.

The Mets have had bad teams before. This one might be the most frustrating though ^A

There are many tales to tell about the 2025 Mets, most of them negative.

But the ‘one bad inning’ has cost them time after time after time. Last night merely the latest in a string of them.

As stated yesterday in a reply to @pidgeos.bsky.social the only way we can win now is by scoring 9 or more runs & Diaz getting 5/6 outs. That isnt sustainable. Our SP is awful Im afraid & its unfair to rely on the young arms to carry us - playoffs wise if we are honest we'd get swept if we got in
