A bipartisan group of more than 200 members of Congress have filed a powerful amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court supporting Oregon and our coalition challenging the Trump Administration’s abuse of emergency powers to impose sweeping tariffs. The brief, led by Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), underscores that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not grant the President authority to unilaterally impose tariffs — a power reserved for Congress.
