so first thing i like doing for lines is adding a warm or cold tint, these depend on the mood you want to create, warm colors are usually more calm and peaceful with cold being more sharp and moody. you can obviously use red to make something intense instead of calm or blue to make something soothing instead of intense but again depends on what mood you want to capture
i also like using split complementary schemes for inner linework colors sense it makes almost a subconscious border around your character but i also encourage experimenting for whatever piece you do
and lastly, this is mainly for final renders, i like putting a gradient over all my colors to unify it all into the mood i want. you can also add this gradient to your lines for some extra fancy shit but just over the colors on a multiply layer will do plenty if you already did the lineart coloring
