The Neo story, in the end, is largely about the cycle of violence and the self-sustaining nature of hate.

That doesn't make it automatically a good story, but it shows how even a mediocre outing for the X-Men can have substance.

Next issue resolves some of what was needed here, but it was too little too late for me. I don't know how I got through. There were so some okay issues towards the end, but all the emotion been retconned out since.

One thing I like about the Chris Claremont return so far but haven't said much about is the fact that they are being run separately. We have two teams facing related threats in isolation. An underrated choice given that when one person is writing both they tend to become one biweekly series.

Dammit.

It kills me to say it because it's Cyclops.

But the first SCENE had me completely invested.

This is why there are Cyclops die-hards.

My Boxing Day reading... Couldn't put it down. There were so many easter eggs to spot and @bonnielangforduk.bsky.social makes Mel such a likeable character here - fully fleshed out in a way the legacy TV show never had the chance to. Highly recommended!

And as a soap fan, I got it. Kazemi... Lol.
