That's what I'm saying, the swearing style is noticeably modern, and gives the dialogue a unique feel in the fantasy genre I think. So we get scenes where flowery language turns into Lionel Baratheon yelling "Fuck that, and fuck you!"

Legitimately I think a major thing that sets A Song of Ice and Fire apart from most fantasy is the swearing. Most of the dialogue is your standard flowery, formal medieval-y language. But then the F-bombs start flying and it becomes very clear that the author is extremely New Jersey.
